Code Of Conduct

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do in all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”                                                                 Colossians 3:17

Attendance

  • Regular attendance in a college prep environment is essential. Please make every effort to make medical appointments before or after school.
  • A parent must call the school office or email Heather Daniel (hdaniel@dbcs.org) no later than one hour after the beginning of school the day of an absence.   If we do not receive notice by designated time the student will receive an unexcused absence which will result in a zero in all classes missed.
  •   Make-up work is only allowed for excused absences. No student is permitted to participate in any extracurricular activity who has not attended at least half the day.
  • In order for a student to be counted present, they must be here until 11:30 or check-in by 11:30.

Excused Absence

  • Excused absences are for illness, family emergency and doctors appointment (which require a doctors note).
  •  In order for any other absence to be excused it must be cleared by the administration 3 days prior to the absence. Students must be in good standing for approval both academically and behaviorally.
    • A form is available in the office that must be signed by the parents, students and their teachers in order for the absence to be excused

Tardy/Early Dismissal

  • The tardy bell rings at 8:00am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00am on Tuesday and Thursday. Anyone coming in after the tardy bell rings MUST sign-in the office and receive a tardy slip for admittance to class.   All students are responsible for any work missed.  A students must check in with each teacher whose class was missed.
  • If a student needs to be dismissed early for any reason, the office must have parental permission, and the student must come and sign out through the office.  Otherwise this will be considered a “skip” and result in disciplinary action.
  • Exceptions to the absence/dismissal policies must be approved in advance.

Discipline

  • DBCS students are expected to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner. Honesty, good character and respect for self and others are in keeping with the environment expected of our students.
