In a stellar day for DBCS athletics, the 1st year David Brainerd track team scored a stunning upset over Chattanooga Christian and scored a school record number of points (37) in a 4 way team meet yesterday, April 29, at Sewanee. Teams participating were David Brainerd, Sewanee, Chattanooga Christian and Franklin Co High School (5A team). In the last meet before next weeks Sub-Regional Championships, David Brainerd had some excellent individual performances to help edge Chattanooga Christian.
Will Keebler, who scored 26 individual points, came in 1st in the 100m with a 11.66 time, and 1st in the 200 with a personal best of 24.15. Will also placed 2nd in the long jump with jump of 18 feet, 2 inches.
Cameron Knox also had some good performances and assisted in the team points race, placing 2nd overall in the 400m with a personal best time of 57.5 and 3rd in the 200m with a 26.3 time.
The boys 4x100m team, consisting of Knox, Colin Kato, Germonte Jordan and Keebler, had a sub-par day, but still placed 2nd with a time of 49.12, accounting for the remainder of the team points.
Alex Griffith ran well setting a personal best in the 400m
