The 2007-2008 DBCS Swim Team ended its season two weeks ago at the Scenic City Aquatic Invitational. Our High School and Middle School Swimmers made a great showing and represented David Brainerd well!

It is official….the First Girls High School Swim Relay
completed this weekend. DBCS was represented by
Abby Gibbons, Amy Lepley, Morgan Lepley and Katie Page!!!

The girls placed 2nd in the 200 Free Relay and the 200 Medley Relay!!

Please congratulate Abby Gibbons for placing in the
Top 4 in all six events she entered!! She earned three 2nd place finishes, two 3rd and a 4th!

Southeastern Middle School Swimming Championships

The DBCS Middle School Swim Team participated this past weekend at the Southeastern Middle School Swimming Championships held at Baylor School in Chattanooga , TN. There were 37 schools with 431 swimmers from various schools in the Southeast represented. Our team of seven swimmers earned significant accolades at this championship meet.

GIRLS:

Victoria Schaaf (6^th grade):

50 Yard Freestyle – placed 64 out of 80 with a time of 40.54

100 Yard Backstroke – placed 54 out of 64 with a time of 1:47.93

*This was her first Southeastern Championship.

Megan Aldridge (6^th grade):

50 Yard Freestyle – placed 37th out of 80 with a time of 32.81

100 Breaststroke – placed 29th out of 59 with a time of 1:31.32

*This was her first Southeastern Championship.

Savannah
Rowe (7^th grade):

50 Yard Freestyle – placed 17th out of 80 with a time of 28.79

*She was the First Alternate for the Top 16 Finals.

100 Yard Backstroke – placed 9thout of 64 with a time of 1:12.50

*She was in the Top 16 Finals.

NASHVILLE AQUATIC CLUB NIKE MUSIC CITY INVITATIONAL:

Sadie Lett: Gained a Southeastern Qualifying time in 200 Free; Placed 8th overall in 100 Breaststroke

There were 355 girls participating in the meet and 637 athletes total

We have an awesome swim team growing at DBCS.

High School has one male team member…and a good one at that. Thank you Matt.

High School girls have a great team…Abby Gibbons, Amy & Morgan Lepley and Katie Page. All girls have been attending practice regularly. WE HAVE OUR FIRST HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS RELAY!

Middle School has three male team members…Taylor Mathis, Austin Keith and Clint Page. We only need one more to have our FIRST DBCS Middle School boys relay team. IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN! WE NEED YOU!

Middle School has four girls…Sadie Lett, Savannah Rowe, Megan Aldridge and Victoria Schaaf. This will be our second year to have a Middle School Girls Relay!

Let the HISTORY begin!

I hope everyone is paying Roger his monthly fee….I’m sure he will let me know. He is coaching our swimmers in such a great way.

2007 Swim Team

2007 Season in Review

South Eastern Middle School Championships, February 3, 2007, held at Baylor School.

This competition included 34 Middle School Teams from all over the state of Tennesse and North Georgia consisting of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students competing for the South Eastern Middle School Championship. The first David Brainerd Christian School Swim team made up of Emma Ziegler, Allyson Cole, Savannah Rowe and Sadie Lett placed 11th in both the 200 Yard Individual Medley and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

In individual swimming events:

Allyson Cole placed 29th out of 52 in the 100 Yard Backstroke.

Emma Ziegler placed 39th out of 83 in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 39th out of 57 in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

Savannah Rowe placed 2nd in the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 13th in the 100 Yard Freestyle. She went on to place 12th overall in the finals on Saturday night in the 100 Yard Freestyle. She was one of three sixth grade students competing in the top 16.

Sadie Lett placed 19th in the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 7th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. She went on to place 6th over all in the finals Saturday night in the 100 yard Breaststroke and made a Southereastern Qualifying time. She was ranked the number one 6th grade student in this event.
