Terri Bateman - Drama, Public Speaking, Bible

BA - Tennessee Temple University

Terri Bateman grew up in the heart of Illinois, which boasts of the finest, black soil in America. The family's 300 acre rented farm afforded mysterious corn field mazes, tranquil country roads ideal for horse back rides, an orchard overflowing with fruit trees to climb, a barn yearning for a good old fashioned hay fight, a stocked pond excellent for swimming, gorgeous flowers for surprise arrangements, and of course a faithful, German sheperd named Lady.

While in high school Terri enjoyed different avenues of self-expression. She played clarinet, sang in ensembles and choir, cheered, dabbled in art, and best of all, tried our for every play and dramatic competition. Mrs. Barth was an incredible drama coach, who encouraged and inspired Terri to further her study of drama.

Terri received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Temple University in 1984. In order to graduate she had to student teach, assist a director in a major play, and direct a play. Once directing got into her blood, it never left. Mixing drama with her other passion- teenagers is not just fulfilling, but also a calling.

Terri is married to Chuck and is blessed with two children, Josiah and Abigail. Their family moved to the country with a pond and a faithful female German sheperd named Tillie. The soil however, is far from black.
