Welcome toDavid Brainerd Admissions

David Brainerd Christian School (DBCS) is a non-denominational Christian College Prep School seeking students who desire the challenge of academic excellence in a loving, Christian environment and who can succeed in a traditional classroom setting. The school accepts approximately forty students for each grade, with admission based on character and academic ability. David Brainerd is committed to accepting qualified students from all walks of life without regard to race, creed, national or ethnic origin. DBCS is a mission school that also seeks to touch the hearts of those who may not have been exposed to the love of Jesus Christ and to His teachings. The admission process includes an application, an admissions test, and an interview.

The Admission Process

Step 1: Visit Our School

We encourage all prospective families to visit our school in order to gain a better understanding of what DBCS can offer your child. We provide different opportunities for you to see our school.

TOURS

We cordially invite you and your family to tour our campus and find out more about our school.  Learn what David Brainerd Christian School is all about. During our tour you will walk our campus as you see the growth of our school in only six years. You can meet teacher, talk with our headmaster and see our students in the classroom setting.  During the tour, we hope to provide you valuable insight on David Brainerd as your family searches for the right school for your child.  To schedule a tour simply call our Admissions office at 423-296-0245.

SHADOWING
Each prospective student is encouraged to spend a day visiting David Brainerd Christian School. Many students find it advantageous to participate in a “real” school day. Your child will be paired with one of our students who will guide him or her through the entire day of classes. This experience allows your child to experience the classroom dynamic at DBCS, meet the teachers, participate in class and see what it is like to be a student at David Brainerd. Please contact Laura Cottrell, Director of Admissions, at 423-296-0245 to schedule a visit.

Step 2:  Application Packet

Once you have made your visit to DBCS, you will need to apply.  All you do is  simply fill out the forms inside our admissions packet and return them to us with that application fee of $75 which will cover the cost of the entire admission process, including our admission test.  That’s it.

How do I get and admissions packet an application? Just call our admissions office @ 423-296-0245, or fill out the form below and we will send you a packet in the mail.

Step 3:  Admission Test
An important part of our admission process is the test administered to all prospective students. This includes a standardized test used to measure the quality of work and the ability of the student to process information. Also included is a short essay that simply shows the writing ability of the student regarding sentence structure and clarity of thought. While the testing is important, we do consider previous testing, transcripts, teacher recommendations, and interviews. Please call to schedule a testing date.

Call the admissions office to schedule your child for an admissions test @423-296-0243. All testing students must complete the admission application before testing.

Step 4: Interview
We desire to know you and your child on a more personal level. The interview allows for a time to do just this. Once an application has been received, the teacher recommendations and test scores have been received, and our admission test has been taken, you will be contacted to schedule an interview. Interviews are conducted by members of our faculty who form our admissions committee. During the interview we will simply sit and tallk to your child getting to know him or her better.  The interviews are held during our school day.
