Karen Ridenour
Guidance
Karen is a graduate of the University of Virginia, (B.A.) and Virginia Commonwealth University (M.S.) She worked in state personnel, and in college counseling before coming to DBCS in 1993.
Karen perceived God's call on her life at the age of 12 when she attended a Bible study at a friend's invitation. She feels privileged to be working in an establishment where the faculty and staff encourage one another and attempt to glorify the Lord in both their life and work.
Karen has been married to Dan Ridenour for over four decades. They have three children, all of whom are DBCS and University of Virginia alumni. All three are married, gainfully employed in their chosen vocation, and are living in other locales. She is joyful to be able to claim the blessing of seeing (and adoring) her children’s children as well!
As a guidance counselor, Karen seeks to encourage students to explore areas in which God has gifted them, all the while seeking His will in their college and career plans. As God has uniquely crafted each one of us, there is no "one size fits all" plan!
