Heather Meadows
High School Science
Heather Meadows was born and raised in Bedford County, Virginia, on a small hobby farm near the Peaks of Otter. She accepted Christ at an early age during Vacation Bible School and was baptized at 13. At 16, she began working at a Christian daycare, and at 18, she joined the U.S. Navy. Heather married her high school sweetheart at 19 and deployed with the USNS Comfort, providing medical aid to eight South American countries. She received an honorable discharge in 2011 to start a family. After five years, she and her husband welcomed their first son, Samuel, followed by twins Elijah and Joanna. Her family and faith are her greatest accomplishments. Feeling called to work with teens, Heather earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University, focusing on healthcare, history, and government. She has spent the last three years teaching upper school history to 6th-12th graders at Ocean View Christian Academy and is excited to begin teaching high school science DBCS.
